The Baby in Nambia

Taken from an article on MSNBC.com:

Darryn Lyons, the chairman of Big Pictures, which runs Mr. Paparazzi.com, said in London that the two stars are certain to gain more attention by taking up residence in a poor corner of Africa then they would in the United States.

“I don’t think they [Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie] could have given the people more of an appetite to see the new creature,” said Lyons, referring to the decision to hole up in Namibia. “It is the most anticipated baby since Jesus Christ.”
The first thought that came to my mind when I read this will not be posted or even spoken out loud due to decency standards. For someone, another humane being to have the audacity to say such a things is just unconscionable. Sad fact is this is how we have come to view our celebrities. We glorify them and strip them of their humanity at the same time.

And another thing. I feel sorry for Brittany Spears. She's pregnant again (can you imagine the hormone issues she is dealing with), her husband is a complete...you know, and she is ruthlessly criticized (sometimes rightly, the sitting in lap car ride not a good idea) for every misstep in her fumbling adjustment to motherhood. How many of us could hold up under such pressure? If I were famous, what would people say about about this picture?

PS: I wish people would stop decrying the vote count for American Idol when it's brought up that the totals exceed any Presidential election. First of all if we could text message a vote then perhaps more teens would vote. Oh wait they can't. Secondly since you are only allowed to vote once and people can vote for an American Idol as much as they want your numbers are going to be off. I still think people are more informed and focused about picking a President than picking an American Idol.

PPS: Let's hear it for the Bush justice department getting convictions on Kenny Boy and Skilling!

PPPS: Tax cuts only serve to make people think they are getting Government at a discount. They still want the services Government provides and the beast grows, only we are told it costs 20% less than what it really does.
