Taylor's The Man!

Tonight Taylor Hicks will become the obvious choice for the next American Idol. I have liked this guy from the beginning and he should ABSOLUTELY be the winner. Katharine McPhee gave the most amazing performance last week when she sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", but I predict she will continue to make poor song choices and will lose! And she should. She is very attractive and has fantastic talent, I just don't see that she is better and more unique than Taylor musically. Taylor has the potential to bring back a whole new genre and style of music to the forefront of pop.

The true test is this. I would buy Taylor's album, but I can't see myself buying Katharine's.

*Caveat*
If Katharine sings "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" all bets are off. She could absolutely own that song and it might be so powerful that she would catapult over Taylor.

I really want to see Taylor win too! Early on in the show, I always forgot about Katherine, and I don't think that was just a coincidence.

I think Taylor is more likeable than Katharine. (Please, someone coach the girl on how to not come off like a snot on national TV.) But marketable? Not hardly. At least not top 40. I think she can be groomed to sing some hits that will get some air play for sure. I think Taylor's music is destined for adult contemporary. And, as Simon stated one week, he'll kill the music video industry, to the extent it still exists. The way he moves like he's in pain and shouted "soul patrol" 300 times during last week's results show about made me turn the tv off.

All my above commentary is moot because I think America likes this one-trick pony. He will be the American Idol.

You won't buy Katherine McPhee's album? Didn't you buy Kelly Clarksons?

Kenny you and I know that is totally different. I didn't buy KC's album until after the grammy's and her legitness was well established.

Atleast I listen to music with instruments!
