What in the World
I know I said I wouldn't write, but it's late and I feel discouraged, angry, frustrated, etc. I feel these things because we are in a war that has cost almost 1/2 trillion dollars, the National debt is close to 8.5 trillion, (these are not in order of importance by the way) there is lobbying and financial corruption in both houses of congress. Our soldiers (2,730 at last count) are dying in a country that's getting more and more violent every day and the option of staying seems just as bad as leaving. And now we have congressmen Mark Foley who was the co-chair for the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus was actually trying to exploit a child! Worst of all PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT IT and didn't do anything!
Has the America gone mad!
With all of this outrage there is still not a single person, let alone an entire opposing party that has the vision and clarity to stand up and articulate a better solution than what we have now. How could this really be the case, what in the world is going on. What have WE done. Did we not put these people there? And it's not just GWB, it's the whole lot of them. Why is the race to recapture the House and Senate even close. I am going to walk into the voting both on November and straight ticket the Dem's (not that it matters here), but I don't expect them to do any better, because they haven't done anything is SIX YEARS. It's so bad you can't even trust Condi's word any more (get out girl, while the gettings good, you could be Pres. someday, don't throw it away).
I also just finished watching one of those Dateline Chris Hansen "To Catch a Predator" specials, and watched the news about the shooting in the Amish school house. I can't help but think that this weekend at Revolution all I should do is stand up before the 90 teenagers and apologize to them for failing them as adults. I (we) should apologize for not protecting them better, for pushing them to be more sexual, for making them assume adult like responsibilities and for forcing them let go of their childhood innocence before they stop being children. If I was a teen who watched the news this week I would feel abandoned by adults, wouldn't you?

Dan McVey shared a strong message of hope Saturday at the ZOE conference and a lot of those things were running through my head.
The jist of it was. We are no longer the center of Christianity. We are no longer the hope to the world, on any facet. We are no longer of importance, we just simply think we are so we take command.
Africa, now has more Christians than we. Enlightened countries, which we bash for their liberalism (Netherlands, Denmark, etc.) Has hundreds of thousands of converts in the last 5 years. They're sending out more missionaries than we are, giving more money to the poor than we are.
We are the only place in the entire world Christianity is not being fruitful and I think we're being put through a little fire that may last a while.
God's alive and thriving! Hallelujah! We have nothing to worry about for Our Great God is in total control of the world. Our minds are just confused as to what's important and who is important.
Jason, these are my sentiments exactly. We have allowed our young people to be conned into believing sex makes the world go round and that there are no consequences for sin. They should sue us! I see such a difference in the Christians at home (adults) and those here on the mission field. Many here really take the commission to be the light of the world very seriously. The kids are different in many ways as well. Things must change in the US. When I was a parent of youngsters, I wanted to start a group called Parents Who Stand...to say no, and make it stick, to whom "there's just one bad part" meant one bad part too many. As you know, I feel the media is out of control, but I have seen no difference in the way Chritians use ratings to guard their kids compared to non-Christians. Therefore, it is hard to blame only the media. It is just that the media is so ubiquitous.
Hey Jason,
Jonathan came across this video and I really wish the teens could see it... especially the girls.
