Determination
"Ready and determined to win! Go OBAMA!"
Today is the big primary in Wisconsin and Hawaii. I feel very optimistic that Obama will take these two states. After tonight the make or break contests for Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the great state of Texas begin! These states are must wins for Hillary and she has to do it in big fashion to retain some sort of right to be given the nomination. I say given because it increasingly looks like that will be the only way she can get the nomination. First things first, gotta do well tonight.
I would love to recommend a great "Pro-Obama" political blog called The Field. Al Giordano is the author of the blog and he writes about ten posts a day with each one being detailed and thoughtful. Like this one in which he scolds Obama supporters for getting all worked up about the 'plagiarism' non-story. By the way that story had to make every preacher in America laugh out loud. If what Obama did makes people think he is unworthy to be President, then a lot of Pastors will be out of a job soon too!
I have heard from some Texan friends that they are sick of the political happenings already in their state. I tell you to embrace your chance to participate in the greatest election we have seen in a generation. Educate yourself on the issues that matter to you. Besides voting (everyone can vote, it's an open primary) you should go volunteer with the campaign. Give just a little time, you might be surprised at how many people from your church you will see at the local Obama headquarters!
Finally remember....you don't have to agree with the entirety of a persons politics to support them in this election. Don't allow yourself to be pinned down by a single issue. Think thoughtfully and deeply on a whole range of issues. If you only focus on one thing then you are too easily taken advantage of by politicians who say what you need to hear to get your vote, but won't do anything about your concerns once their elected.
You can also give a small amount because it WILL make a difference.

i dunno but i dig the jacket!
Jason,
Probably late on this and it should more appropriately go in the Texas entry earlier.
Intersting debate I'm hearing about whether "Republicans" will cross over and vote in the Dem primary here. I have always voted Republican, at least in the presidential elections. However, I'm not sold in this election on McCain. So, I'll vote for Obama in the primary because: 1) I'm seriously considering him in the gen election vs McCain and 2) I cannot stomach Sen. Clinton.
However, there is another thought. Some Republicans, knowing the Repub nominee is a foregone conclusion, are considering voting for Clinton in the primary because they believe McCain has a much better shot at beating her than Obama. Twisted, weird year.

I heard Hannity calling out Hillary on her lack of integrity with the whole Superdelgate and MI and FL thing. Then he added, and I want her to win because she is our best chance in the general!
Glad to see that you are supporting Obama in the primary. The general election will be a different ball game and people like yourself will have to re-evaluate. Even as moderate as McCain is, there is still plenty of ideological differences between McCain and Obama to present America with a real choice. What I will like about that contest is that those two men have the best chance to be civil with one another. They will stridently defend their views, but I don't see them running each other into the ground with baseless attacks.
And that's change we can all get behind right!
It seems like Texans are definitely embracing Obama and his message. I live in Dallas and tried to go to his rally today but thousands of other people had the same idea. So after waiting in a hugely long line for over an hour and a half and snaking up and down through a parking garage to get close to Reunion Arena, we were sadly told the fire marshall had closed the rally. I totally did not expect that many people to show up at noon on a Wednesday in Dallas, Texas. So it's encouraging to see that people are energized. The crowd was diverse and excited. It was a pretty fun experience, even if we didn't get in to see the man himself.
I still haven't decided for sure who I'm going to vote for in the upcoming primary, but I love it that people, Texans, are coming out in droves to support somone like Obama. The whole thing definitely had the weight of history.
J-wild: Glenn Beck today said the country was becoming an "Obama Nation". Ha! Best wishes from this dittohead!
Hey Jocelyn we were there too. We got about 30 feet from the door, when they came out and said they were sorry, they couldn't squeeze any more people in there. Sucked, but it was cool to be part of that huge group.
